Materials: N28/N30/N33/N35/N38/N40/N42/N45 (the greater the number, the stronger the magnetic force, and the temperature resistance is 80 degrees). High temperature-resistant ones can be customized.

  • The higher the performance, the stronger the magnetic force, and the higher the price. Therefore, the details should be determined according to the actual needs of customers. Generally, N33 is mainly used for products with low toy requirements, such as packaging boxes, and gift boxes. Medium and low-grade horn magnets mostly use the N35 brand.
  • Circular magnet: the specification is reported according to the diameter * thickness, and the unit is mm.
  • Square magnet: length x width x height are all represented by F. All units are calculated in millimeters. For example, f20mmx10mm means that the square magnet is 20mm long, 10mm wide, and 2mm thick. The last digit is the magnetization direction of the magnet. For example, the f20mmx10mm square has a magnetization direction of 2mm, so the magnetic surface is the strongest on the 20mm*10mm sides.

Introduction of Permanent Magnets

The term permanent magnet derives from the ability of a magnet to retain an induced magnetic charge after it is removed from a magnetizing device. Permanent magnet materials are also called hard magnetic materials. Once a permanent magnet is magnetized, it can maintain a constant magnetism. In practice, permanent magnet materials work in the demagnetization part of the second quadrant of the hysteresis loop after deep magnetic saturation and magnetization. The commonly used permanent magnet materials are divided into Al Ni Co permanent magnet alloys, Fe Cr co permanent magnet alloys, permanent ferrite, rare earth permanent magnet materials, and composite permanent magnet materials.

Features of Permanent Magnets


Neodymium iron boron magnet: neodymium iron boron is the magnet with the highest commercialized performance found at present. It is called magneto king. It has extremely high magnetic properties. Its maximum magnetic energy product is more than 10 times that of ferrite, and it is also commonly known as magnetic steel, strong magnetism, etc. Its own machinability is also quite good. The maximum operating temperature can reach 200 ℃. And its hard texture, stable performance and good cost performance, it is widely used. However, because of its strong chemical activity, its surface must be treated.

Nd-Fe-B permanent magnetic material is a permanent magnetic material based on the intermetallic compound Nd2Fe14B. Compared with cast Al Ni Co permanent magnetic materials and ferrite permanent magnetic materials, Nd-Fe-B has a very high magnetic energy product and coercivity, and can absorb 640 times its own weight. The advantages of high energy density make NdFeB permanent magnet materials widely used in electronic technology and modern industry. It can reduce the weight of instruments, electroacoustic motors, magnetic separation and magnetization equipment, etc. The advantages of NdFeB are high-cost performance, easy processing, good mechanical properties, and so on. The disadvantage is that the Curie temperature is low, the temperature characteristics are poor, and it is easy to powder and corrode. Therefore, it needs to be improved by adjusting its chemical composition and adopting surface treatments to meet the requirements of practical applications. Manufacturing process Nd-Fe-B is manufactured by powder metallurgy process. Raw materials containing a certain proportion, such as neodymium, dysprosium, iron, cobalt, niobium, praseodymium, aluminum, copper, ferroboron, etc., are smelted into alloy steel ingots by medium frequency induction melting furnace, and then crushed into 3 ~ 5 μ M powder, which is pressed and formed in a magnetic field. The formed green body is sintered and compacted in a vacuum sintering furnace and tempered for aging. In this way, a permanent magnet blank with certain magnetic properties is obtained. After grinding, drilling, slicing and other processing procedures, the finished Nd-Fe-B products required by users can be obtained through surface treatment.

Matters Needing Attention of Permanent Magnets

  1. Service temperature

When selecting Nd-Fe-B magnets, customers should select their own magnet brand according to their working temperature. If the working temperature of the magnet is higher than the bearing temperature of the magnet brand, then the magnet will slowly demagnetize to no magnetism. So before ordering, please confirm the working temperature and the brand suitable for your use.

  1. Using environment

If the magnet device used is in the sealed state, it can be considered to select the magnet without electroplating or white zinc plating on the surface, which can save costs. If the magnet needs to be exposed to moist air, especially salt fog. In this case, it is recommended to consider the use of nickel-plated magnets. The magnet shall be stored in a dry and constant temperature environment, separated and wrapped with plastic, wood chips, hard paper, foam, etc. Keep away from ironware and objects easy to be magnetized, such as monitors, computers, televisions, mobile phones, etc.

  1. Handling and stacking

Neodymium iron boron strong magnetic material that is hard, brittle and has a strong magnetic field. It should be handled with care (especially large-size and thin pieces). When the strong magnet itself or other iron objects are attracted or separated, it should be operated carefully without impact. Otherwise, the magnet may be damaged or fingers may be pinched due to collision. Because neodymium iron boron is a kind of multi-metal alloy material, its density is 7 45, heavy and brittle. Therefore, special care should be taken when handling to avoid magnetic breakage. The storage environment should also be kept dry. Do not stack it directly on the ground. It is best to pad it with thick cardboard or place it on the shelf.

  1. Precautions for use

When the magnets cannot be separated, it is recommended to push them horizontally to stagger them. Do not pull them hard. Fix the whole magnet with your left hand, and use your index finger and thumb with your right hand to move out the magnet horizontally. Do not throw the removed magnet back into the magnet stack immediately after moving out. Please isolate the magnet immediately. Handle with care, far away from iron or magnetic objects. If you need to put the magnet back into the whole magnet, please put it back slowly and let the magnet suck back from the edge at a close distance. Hold the magnet firmly until the two magnets fit.

How are powerful magnets produced? The manufacturing processes of NdFeB magnets, SmCo magnets, AlNiCo magnets, and ferrite magnets are also different. In terms of technology, there are sintered NdFeB magnets and bonded NdFeB magnets. We mainly focus on sintered NdFeB magnets.

Sintering is a simple and cheap method that can change the microstructure of materials to improve their magnetic properties of materials. Sintering is the forming process of materials, which has a more important impact on the density and microstructure of magnets.
